Donate to FINCA Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund and Claim 2009 Tax Deduction!



As an incentive to encourage Americans to donate for Haiti's relief, President Obama signed into law H.R. 4462 on January 22, 2010 (the Act, P.L. 111-1126).  The Act allows United States taxpayers to claim a charitable deduction in tax-year 2009 for donations made through March 1, 2010 for the relief of victims in areas affected by the earthquake in Haiti. More here...

We’ve finally been able to get some reports from the field that we want to share with you, our dedicated supporters, which provide a glimpse into the dedication of our staff and Village Banking clients.

Nearly all of FINCA Haiti’s 180 staff showed up for work the day after the January 12th earthquake. Despite the fact that many find themselves homeless—about fifty lost their homes—they continue to devote themselves to keeping FINCA Haiti operational. Read some of their stories here.

FINCA Azerbaijan Ranked Among Best in the Country

The Azerbaijan Microfinance Association has honored FINCA Azerbaijan as one of "the best of the best" of its 26 members during a ceremony attended by directors of Azerbaijan’s National Bank, several cabinet ministers, and leading investors and bankers. The program has been included twice in the Global 100: Rankings of Microfinance Institutions, published by the Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX), which honors the top performing MFIs in the developing world.
