FINCA Earns Sixth Consecutive "4-Star" Rating from Charity Navigator
For the sixth consecutive year, FINCA International has earned Charity Navigator's "coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management." In its letter to FINCA, the largest charity-evaluating organization in the U.S. writes that "Only 2% of the charities we've rated have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that FINCA International outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible." FINCA Jordan Inaugurated
On February 25, 2008, Jordan's Queen Rania Al-Abdullah visited FINCA Jordan clients and officially inaugurated the program, which made its first loans on November 18.

Wall Street Journal Highlights FINCA’s Pioneering Microinsurance Strategic Alliance with AIG
Fred Adriko—the son of a FINCA Uganda Village Banking client—only learned his mother had taken out a credit life insurance policy with her FINCA loan when he received a payment after she was killed in a car crash. The benefit—over four months of income for an average Ugandan—will enable Mr. Adriko to take care of his family’s needs, until they can replace the income from his mother’s produce business. FINCA Afghanistan to Reach 90,000 Clients by 2009
FINCA’s program in Afghanistan, launched in 2003 , currently serves nearly 35,000 Afghan clients with loans averaging $342. Their repayment rate is over 99 percent, and they have saved more than $240,000 to improve the quality of life for their families with better food, education, healthcare and housing—and to reinvest in their growing businesses. Our goal is to serve 90,000 Afghan clients by 2009, many in rural areas.
